3 Reasons Why YOUR Business Can Always Benefit From Consistent SEO Practice

If you manage to implement a successful SEO strategy, your website will bring you tons of money more or less passively!

Regardless of whether you are an artist, freelancer, service provider, or entrepreneur, SEO is a marketing strategy you shouldn’t ignore.

SEO brings you many benefits, but in this article, let’s look at the three most important ones to help you level up your business growth in 2022.

1. The volume of daily searches

There is more than one search engine out there on the market, but as Google is the dominant platform with more than 90% of online searches, this article will use Google as an example.

It is estimated that around 5.6 billion searches are performed daily on Google by users across the world (HubSpot 2020). However, 80% of those searches are captured by the pages on search positions 1–3 (Search Engine Journal).

These numbers explain that a disproportionate share of the market is dominated by the top 3 organic websites in the search results. So if your business does not appear on the first page of Google when prospects are searching for your keyword, you’re simply invisible to them.

On the other hand, if you develop a solid strategy for optimizing the ranking of your website on Google’s search results page, you stand a great chance of capturing the lion’s share of traffic for your specific keyword, without paying a cent for ads.

2. Overall higher return on investment in the long run

While you might not always be ready for paid ads, organic search results can constantly bring you good sources of traffic across the internet.

Think about it, people searching on Google want to solve a specific problem. That’s the big difference compared to social media ads. They are actively searching for the keyword you’re building authority upon.

It is easier to pitch to someone who is aware of what they want compared to a general pitch in the hope that someone may notice. So, it surely requires a compelling argument to make them click an ad they see.

When people are searching on Google, they look for either informational or transactional content, and if your website or blog posts can solve their search intent, that cold traffic soon will enter your intended marketing funnel.

For example, if somebody is looking for a nice haircut in a nearby area, this person will be pleased to see a nearby hair salon on Google, and probably consider the top 3 options appearing on the first page of Google’s search result.

All you need to do to close the deal is to rank high on Google, or at least display Google Ads.

Sure, ranking high in competitive niches is the hard part. But learning how to do that is definitely worth the effort! Plus, it is cheaper in the long run than paying for Google Ads.

3. Good SEO content keeps traffic coming over time

Being successful in SEO is not easy. Anyone who guarantees you the 1st position on Google only plans to take your money. Real SEO success takes timeeffort, and consistency.

You might get demotivated after a few months of doing SEO without any noticeable results. You may stop optimizing your site because it attracts too little traffic from Google. But you’re so close to the finish line that it would be a complete waste to stop right there.

As I mentioned above, 80% of users are clicking on the 1-3 results on Google's first page. So maybe you’re ranking 5th or 7th, and you attract a smaller percentage of overall searches. But you already did way better than many others who didn’t make it to the first page.

Don’t give up just yet!

It is often a matter of time, or of some more small tweaks to land in the top results.

When you finally succeed in ranking on search position one, you can expect to stay there, as long as you update your content every now and then.

One hidden truth nobody is talking about is the fact that the pages on the top of the Google results get the most backlinks. This makes perfect sense because they also attract the most traffic. So, when you are dominating a niche, other webmasters in the same niche will tend to also link to your website.

When you understand how SEO works, you understand the value of backlinks to ranking criteria.

This translates to a really enticing benefit: the longer you can stay on top, the higher the value of your site will rise.

So it is challenging to make it to the top of the Google search results page. But once you’re getting there, it is easier to keep your search position or rank for different keywords. You now spend less effort but gain increasing results.

It is therefore critical to have a strong content strategy in mind: make your content interesting, valuable, and evergreen to your audience. If you can maintain the consistency of such practice, you can attract tons of traffic over years and improve the overall performance of your website as well.
